Chimney Caps & Liners in Baltimore
A cap keeps rain, leaves and animals out of the flue. A liner makes sure the smoke and gases go up and out the way they should. Two small parts that head off the big, expensive problems.
What's included
- Stainless-steel caps sized to your flue
- Stainless liners for wood, gas and oil appliances
- Relining for cracked or undersized clay flues
- Multi-flue and custom caps for larger stacks

An uncapped Baltimore chimney is an open pipe collecting rain and inviting birds and squirrels. We fit a stainless cap to your flue that shrugs off wet falls and freeze-thaw winters for years, not a cheap galvanized one that rusts out in three seasons.
When we reline, we match the liner to the appliance so it drafts right and passes inspection. A cracked or undersized liner is one of the most common, and most fixable, safety problems we find in older city homes.

Questions we get
Caps & Liners FAQs
Do I really need a chimney cap?
- Yes. Without one the flue collects rain, leaves and animals, and a downdraft can push smoke back into the house. A stainless cap is one of the cheapest parts on the chimney and it prevents some of the most expensive problems.
Is a chimney liner really necessary?
- For any wood, gas or oil appliance, yes. The liner contains the heat and the combustion gases and vents them safely. A cracked or missing liner can let heat reach framing or leak carbon monoxide into the home.
Can you put a liner in an old chimney?
- Almost always. A flexible stainless liner fits most older Baltimore masonry chimneys, even ones with cracked clay tile, and it usually drafts better than the original flue did.
How long does a stainless chimney cap last?
- A quality stainless cap installed correctly typically lasts fifteen years or more through Maryland weather. We do not fit the cheap galvanized caps that rust out in a few seasons.
